I'm Confused
ARIS has many different positions where you can work with us and help achieve our vision! Here’s a short break-down:
- NICOLLIER (Competition Rocket Team): Be part of a 50 people team competing at the annual European Rocketry Competition, short EUROC, in Portugal. If you are new at ARIS and this is the first engineering challenge you tackle, then this is where you should apply. The rocket will have a guided recovery system and will be propelled by a COTS solid rocket motor. The competition team projects have the largest heritage within ARIS, building up on the expertise of 6 years of development.
- HELIOS (Liquid Rocket Engine Team): This is our newest project. We are developing, testing, and advancing a 700N bi-liquid rocket engine including cryogenic fluid supply system, mission control software, and electronics containing various circuits, safety features, PCBs, sensors & actuators. The project builds up on the vast knowledge, infrastructure and network built up by 7 preceding projects within the last five years.
- Business Team: Are you interested in securing sponsoring funds, contacting industrial partners, organising events, want to expand your photography portfolio or improve the website you’re on right now? Apply to the Business Team! We get to see all the fun stuff without putting in the engineering hours.
- ODYSSEY (Karman Rocket Development Team): This is our flagship rocket project. Developing a high-altitude rocket to reach the Karman line using a bi-liquid rocket engine, advanced avionics and simulations, and new manufacturing techniques! The team combines the massive knowledge acquired by the previous competition, engine development and guided recovery projects. If you already have some engineering, programming or management experience this is the place to apply.
- SAGE (CubeSat Development Team): This is our flagship satellite project. We are developing and launching a satellite including a first of its kind biological payload into orbit. We are looking for motivated team members from various different backgrounds, from engineering, natural sciences, management and many more. The place to apply if you want to work on a system which will operate in the vastness of space.
- ARIS Project Lab: Further projects which are done under the ARIS mantle with an array of goals (and open positions) – such as NAUTILUS, a project developing an unmanned underwater vehicle to discover the Arctic sea.
- Focus Project: If you want to apply to a focus project, then this is not the right place. The ETH focus project applications are handled by D-MAVT. Maybe this LINK can help.
